Cormiers celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

Laurie and Mae Cormier celebrated their 65th anniversary in November at a quiet celebration dinner held at their daughter's home. The celebration dinner was given by their children and was attended by family.

They were married November 18, 1950 at St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington.

The couple have 4 children; Laurie Cormier, Kingston, NY, Paul Cormier,William Cormier & Lynn Browne of Pittsfield and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Cormier, the former Mae I. Mercier born in Boston, Ma grew up in Great Barrington and was employed by England Brothers as well as a homemaker extraordinaire. She is a parishioner at St. Mark Parish.

Mr. Cormier born in Leominster, grew up in New Brunswick, Canada and came to the states as a teenager. He was employed by GE, Marland Mold and owned Enright's Package Store. He is a parishioner at St. Mark's Parish, a local musician and a well known local artist with artwork permanently displayed at the Rockwell Museum.
