Countdown to comedy

PITTSFIELD -- Dan St. Germain has had an active year. His Comedy Central "The Half Hour" premiered this May, his first comedy album will be released this fall, and Comedy Central has inked a development deal for two half-hour series from him. Add that to a weekly podcast, "My Dumb Friends," that is now distributed on Sirius XM radio -- and on Saturday he will headline the Laugh Lounge at Spice Dragon Restaurant.

"We have created a place for Berkshire audiences to enjoy the best stand-up comedy talent in the country at a reasonable price in a genuine comedy club atmosphere," said producer and show host Thomas Attila Lewis.

St. Germain has also just appeared in Variety Magazine’s prestigious "10 Comics To Watch" 2013 list, which in recent years has included comedy stars Amy Schumer ("Inside Amy Schumer," Comedy Central), Anthony Jeselnik ("The Jeselnik Offensive," Comedy Central), Donald Glover ("Community," NBC), and Ellie Kemper ("The Office," NBC).

The Barrington Stage Company’s St. Germain Theatre in Pittsfield is named after Dan’s father, playwright and "Cosby Show" scribe Mark St. Germain, whose new play, "Scott and Hem at the Garden of Allah," begins its run at BSC tonight.

For the comedy show, doors open for seating and dinner at 7 p.m., and the humor starts at 8 p.m. at 297 North St. This is an uncensored, adult comedy show for people 18 years and up. Feature and opening comics will round out the evening.
