Crash on Route 7 in Sheffield sends man to New York hospital
At about 3:30 p.m., two vehicles were traveling south, near the 1200 block of North Main Street, when one driver tried to pass the other vehicle and struck it, prompting the passing vehicle to roll over onto the northbound shoulder of the road, according to a short statement provided by the Sheffield Police Department.
Both drivers were injured. The seriously injured man remained in critical condition Saturday morning, according to a Sheffield police officer.
The other driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at Fairview Hospital, according to the statement. The officer declined to identify the drivers' hometowns, ages or any additional information about the collision.
On Saturday, the Sheffield Fire Department didn't provide information about its response to the rollover.
The crash remains under investigation by Sheffield police, according to the statement.
