Dalton: COA to host senior tax incentives information session

The Council on Aging will host a free information session on tax incentives for senior citizens at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, at the Senior Center, 40 Field St. Extension.

Information on tax exemptions and abatements will be presented by Laura Maffuccio and Karen Tonelli from the Assessor’s Office, and the Circuit Breaker Tax will be presented by AARP tax aide volunteer Richard Lacatell.

These incentives can substantially save seniors a great deal on their tax obligation but must be applied for by early April.

The presentation will follow the Elder Services congregate meal held at the Senior Center, Guests wishing to join the lunch at noon must reserve their meal by 10 a.m. Friday, March 14. There is a suggested $2 donation to the Elder Services meal program for lunch.
