Dalton: Dog licenses due Jan. 1
Dog licenses are due Jan. 1 of each year and are now available at the town clerk's office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Licensing fees remain at $25 for a male or female, $20 for spayed or neutered, and multiple pet permits for four to six dogs are $20 per dog.
Valid rabies certificate and proof of altering must be provided at the time of licensing if this data is not already on file. An informational insert offering the option of licensing by mail will be included with the annual census and is also available at the dalton-ma.gov website.
The form can be mailed along with the proper fee(s) and other required documents or placed in the drop box on the Town Hall side porch.
State law requires that all dogs and cats six months of age or older be vaccinated against rabies and veterinarians are required by law to report this information to town clerks.
