Dalton: Lions Club announces summer fundraising events

The Dalton Lions Club will kick-off its summer fundraising schedule with an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, at the Dalton VFW.

The menu includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee for $7.

The Lions Club will have its game booth at the Dalton Fair from June 5 to 9 at the American Legion field on Route 9. Advance ride tickets can be purchased from Lions members and at the Dalton CRA, Greenridge Variety, Country Package & Variety, Dalton General Store, and the Fire Department.

The Kelly Miller Circus will be held July 13 and 14 at the American Legion field. Shows will be Saturday at 2 and 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 and 5 p.m. Advance ticket locations will be announced.

The David Grunow Golf Tournament will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Bas Ridge Golf Course in Hinsdale. For information on this event, contact Bob Bishop at (413) 684-0252.

All funds raised at these events benefit the Lions’ sight and hearing programs, scholarships and other community programs.

The Dalton Lions Charities children’s circus program, which supplies circus tickets to six area family and children’s agencies, is seeking donations. To date, only $1,000 has been received toward this year’s goal of $6,000. All donations are tax deductible.
