Dalton Lions schedule meetings, seeking new members

DALTON >> The Dalton Lions will be holding meetings on the first and third Mondays of every month at the Dalton Restaurant.

Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and last about 90 minutes. Dinner is optional from the restaurant's menu. New members are needed to carry on the club's sight and hearing programs.

Members are required to pay yearly dues that include a monthly magazine from the International Lions Club. Attendance is not required for every meeting, but members are expected to attend as many as they can.

Fundraising events are an important part of the Dalton Lions Club program, and members are expected to help with as many events as they have time for. Money raised from these events fund the Lions' state and national programs, along with local high school scholarships, food pantries and other community events.

In 2017, the Dalton Lions will hold events to raise funds for Lions programs. They include a 20/25 raffle, poker game at the Dalton Carnival June 7-11; and a golf fundraiser at Bas Ridge in Hinsdale in August. All you can eat breakfasts will also be scheduled at dates to be announced.
