Dalton: Police to offer boating safety course

A Massachusetts boating basics course will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, March 14 to April 4, at the Dalton Police Department, 462 Main St.

Boat Massachusetts is offered to the public at no charge. The purpose of the course is to foster safe boat operation through increased awareness of required safety equipment, safe boating practices and legal responsibilities.

Students must be at least 12 years of age. All graduates will be issued a Safety Certificate.

Registration is required. Register online at www.mass.gov/ole, click on Boat and Recreation Vehicle Safety Bureau.

The course is provided by the Massachusetts Environmental Police and the Dalton Police Department.
