Dalton: Town census forms mailed to residents

Thursday January 17, 2013

Annual town census forms were mailed to residents on Jan. 12. Residents should make any changes and return within 10 days. Failure to respond to the census may result in removal from the active voter list.

The annual census serves to maintain residency and voting lists as well as to verify current and projected school enrollments. Local censuses also establish proof of residency necessary for certain municipal privileges, such as school enrollment, cemetery rights, veteran’s benefits, and reduced tuition rates at state universities and community colleges.

Residents who did not receive or have misplaced their forms are urged to call the town clerk’s office at (413) 684-6111, ext. 15, or forms may be printed for completion from the website, dalton-ma.gov.
