Danziger only lowers discourse
As is frequently pointed out by Eagle readers, columnists and editors, there is too much polarization and name-calling in our public discourse. But polemic can be visual as well as verbal, and The Eagle too frequently prints Danziger cartoons featuring demeaning ethnic, regional, and political stereotypes (Muslims, southerners, conservatives, etc.).
These caricatures may give those of us who aspire to be liberal and unbiased some guilty chuckles, but they are unnecessarily mean-spirited, polarizing, and nasty.
