Dauntless in Dublin
Berkshires Week and Shires of Vermont
Welcome to Bloomseason, the annual run-up to Bloomsday, the 110th anniversary of the day on which James Joyce's 'Ulysses' takes place. Over the coming months, a group of lcal enthusiasts will read "Ulysses" aloud. They will meet on Tuesdays weekly at the Water Street Grill: write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If "Ulysses" seems intimidating, try it in company. In these first chap ters, readers will meet Stephen Dedalus and the issues he faces in Edwardian Dublin. Learn from him how to disentangle an uncomfortable roommate situation and how to weigh anchor from the port of underemployment and set sail upon the seas of uncertain dreams.
Bring friends and bring books, or come to share.
