GREAT BARRINGTON — For those seeking a display of holiday spirit, take a ride east on Route 23, about a half-mile past the Butternut Ski slopes.
Bob Steele promises that you will be pleased.
Steele is the owner of Steele Lighting and Production (SLAP) in Pittsfield, a specialty lighting company that ordinarily works parties and special event. This year, his company took on a new challenge
"It's a lot bigger than what we usually undertake," he said.
Eagleton School regularly puts on a large, fairly intricate display of holiday lights that covers it's Route 23 campus. For several years, the staff has undertaken it. This year, the school hired Steele's company.
It took the company about a month to set it up and complete the display, which has elements of both Christian and Jewish celebrations. Steele said he's pretty happy with it.
"I tell my friends who ski at Butternut to take a ride another half-mile east," he said with a chuckle. "At night, it looks pretty cool."
