Dead body found in Rutland home; ruled a homicide


RUTLAND (AP) -- Police are investigating the second homicide in the small town of Rutland in less than a year.

A spokesman for the Worcester district attorney’s office said Sunday that the discovery of a body inside an East County Road home on Saturday has been ruled a homicide.

No other information was released.

The victim’s name has not been made public and there was no word on arrests.

Neighbors tell The Telegram & Gazette ( ) a man they rarely saw lived alone in the home.

In December, police found 53-year-old Diane Lamarche-Leader dead after a fire at her. Her death was ruled a homicide and two men have been charged.
