Dewkett named director at Porchlight/VNA Homecare


LEE -- Dawn Dewkett has been named the director of Porchlight VNA/Home Care’s home care division, president and CEO Holly Chaffee has announced.

A native of the Berkshires, Dewkett has more than three decades of clinical experience in home care, and also in visiting nurse services, acute care and clinical research.

She most recently served as the HospiceCare coordinator for VNA Care Network and Hospice , where she was employed for 15 years. She also spent a decade working in clinical research for Hebrew Senior Life Institute for Aging Research that included three years as project director.

Dewkett began her career in Berkshire County working for both Berkshire Medical Center and the Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association. She served as a primary and admission nurse at Berkshire VNA from 1992-1998. She began her clinical career at BMC serving as a registered nurse, and caring for patients in surgical, orthopedic, medical and neurological units.

Dewkett earned an associates degree in science from Berkshire Community College in 1988, and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1997.
