WEST LEBANON, N.Y. — Tyler Dippel made a rare appearance at Lebanon Valley Speedway on Saturday night, and the Wallkill, N.Y. resident made the most of it by winning the Heavy Hauler Modified feature.

Dippel, who started near the back at the start, made a quick move forward in the early laps, and by lap 10 he was up into second and forcing the issue against pole-sitter Paul Gilardi.

Dippel passed Gilardi around the halfway mark, then held off a late charge from Brett Hearn to win the race.

"It was really good. The car was really working in my favor," Dippel said in a release. "I was able to get through traffic pretty quick. We got lucky with a lot of holes opening up. [The car] got a little loose on me towards the end, but overall, it handled well."

Hearn finished second, and Eddie Marshall finished third. Keith Flach was fourth and Andy Bachetti was fifth. With two races to go in the season, Hearn's points lead is up to 41.
