Disgusted with political insults
Attention George Beebe ("Liberal thugs along Route 23," letter, Oct. 18). I was born 85 years ago as a first generation American. I revel in that distinction. My parents (from Lith uania) were happy to know that Americans could be leftists, rightists or middle-of-the-roaders politically with no penalty.
They would not have understood, and neither do I, how any one group of voters could be labeled thugs. And no, I will not vote for any candidate who feels women should not get paid the same salary as a man for the same work. HILDA BANKS SHAPIRO
