Downstreet Art will light up North Adams


NORTH ADAMS -- Tonight, the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts College will celebrate its final DownStreet Art of 2012 from 5 to 8 with new exhibition openings, performances and zombies.

C. Ryder Cooley and Patrick Porter will perform along with MCLA alumni Mike Martin and presentations by many of MCLA's clubs and musical groups, including the Allegrettos, Dance Com pany and Harlequin.

A free "haunted" trolley ride from and to the MCLA campus will stop at the Berkshire Towers, Hoosac Hall and Flagg Town houses every15 minutes, and drop off passengers in front of the Jarvis Rockwell Gallery, located on 49 Main St.

Exhibition openings will in clude "This Blue Marble: The Universe of Josh Simpson," a soloshow of new and old celestial inspired glass at Gallery 51; Berkshire-based painter Bruce MacDonald at NAACO Gallery; and "Transcope: North Berkshire through the Eyes of Randy Trabold," in honor of the longtime Transcript photographer.
