Driver hurt in one-car crash in Lenox, police say
LENOX -- A local motorist was taken to Berkshire Medical Center on Tuesday morning after his 1997 Toyota Camry spun out of control and bounced off a ledge adjoining the northbound lanes of the Route 7 & 20 bypass just north of Housatonic Street.
John A. Hall, Jr., 52, of 405 Pittsfield Road, was transported to BMC by Lenox Ambulance, police reported, with a head injury not believed serious. He was conscious and talking in the immediate aftermath of the mishap, according to police.
Hospital officials said they had no directory listing for the accident victim, meaning he may have been treated and released or could have chosen to keep admission information confidential under federal hospital privacy rules.
The accident remains under investigation. Lenox Police and Fire department units responded to the scene just after 8 a.m. Wet roads caused by heavy early-morning showers were not a factor, police said.
