Economist to speak at Chamber function Aug. 27

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams College Economics Professor Stephen Sheppard will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday, Aug. 27 when the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce hosts a Good News Business Salute at The Williams Inn.

The hours are 7:45 to 9 a.m. The cost is $25 for Berkshire Chamber members, and $35 for non-members. It includes a breakfast buffet.

Also director of the Center for Creative Community Development at Williams, Sheppard will discuss highlights of his research into the local economic and social impacts of the region’s cultural institutions and their implications for the Berkshire economy.

Emcee Bruce Finn, COO of Main Street Hospitality Group, will discuss the future of his company, which owns or operates three large Berkshire County lodging establishments.

Milestone anniversaries for Berkshire Family and Individual Resources (BFAIR) and Elder Services of Berkshire County will be recognized along with Mad Mac’s expansion into Williamstown.
