Education notes from around the Berkshires
Forum on mental health issues and teens: The Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention will sponsor a free public forum, "Teenage Anxiety and Depression Solutions," from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the Berkshire Museum's Little Cinema space, 39 South St., Pittsfield.
Parents and other caregivers of teens are welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
The program was designed by Steve and Deb Boczenowski of Groton following the loss of their son Jeffrey to suicide in 2009. Steve Boczenowski will be present at the event.
'Tricks of the Trade' seminars: The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' Berkshire Cultural Resource Center -- in partnership with the IS183 Art School and the Pittsfield Office of Cultural Development -- will present several Tricks of the Trade seminars that focus on how artists might keep up with the digital era.
The workshops and seminars, which run through Thursday, will begin at 6 p.m., and are free and open to the public.
Tonight in the MCLA Gallery 51 in North Adams, BCRC Director Jonathan Secor will moderate a panel of guest speakers in a digital preservation seminar, "Capturing Your Art Today for the Audiences of the Future."
On Wednesday at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts in Pittsfield, Megan Whilden, director of the Pittsfield Office of Cultural Development, and Joshua Field of Orbit Visual will talk about how to utilize social media to raise greater awareness of artists' work.
Field will also be at IS183 Art School in Stockbridge on Thursday, to take participants through "The Art of Creating Your Website."

'WordXTeens': As part of the year-round WordXWord festival, young poets will perform their poetry at 7:30 tonight in a program that includes both a traditional open mic and a poetry slam. Hosted by Melissa Quirk Cairns, "WordXTeens," a free, public event takes place at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Ave., Pittsfield. 'Farmer Olympics': The Greenagers will host the "Farmer Olympics" on Sunday at the Route 7 Grill in Great Barrington.
Events will include: Rollin' Round Bales, Farmer's Carry, Stackin' Bales, Gathrin' Gourds, and more -- you need not be a farmer to enter or to watch the games.
A buffet lunch and registration takes place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Games begin at 1:30; awards at 4. Lunch is $15 per person. Game registration is $10 per person, $5 for students. All proceeds will benefit Greenagers, a youth environment program emphasizing community service and environmental stewardship. Details: www.greenagers.org or (413) 644-9090.
Nutrition workshop for kids and families: South Berkshire Kids and Molly Bea Ferioli will host a family nutrition workshop on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., in the administrative building on the CHP campus, 444 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington.
Ferioli is a master nutrition therapist from Lenox. Discussion topics will include: vitamins, organic foods, reading labels, healthy recipes, planning family meals and more.
