Egremont’s only contested race goes to Flynn


EGREMONT -- Incumbent Charles B. Flynn, of Jug End Road, outpolled challenger Kevin M. Zurrin of Town House Hill Road, 227-169 in the only race in this year’s annual town elections.

A total of 409 of Egremont’s 938 registered voters, or about 44 percent, participated in the election.

A total of eight incumbents were also voted in unopposed. They were Moderator Thomas A. Gage, Town Clerk Margaret Muskrat, Assessor Robin G. Goldberg, Water Commissioner Raymond Palmucci, Library Trustee Keila Sheldon, Cemetery Commissioner David D. Campbell, Panning Board associate Marjorie A. Wexler and Tree Warden James Olmsted.

Non-incumbent Gwen Miller was elected to a five-year term on the Planning Board.

Tree warden, moderator and town clerk are all one-year terms. Planning Board associate is a two-year stint. The others are for three years.
