Ella King named MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month for September

Lenox Memorial Middle and High School junior Ella King was named the MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month for September.

King is a member of the state runner-up girls cross country team, as well as the tennis and alpine skiing teams. She had several top-20 finishes in cross country this season, and finished second in the giant slalom last year.

Before the cross country season, King wrote and submitted grants to businesses throughout the Berkshires in order to raise funds for the restoration of Lenox's cross country course.

"Before the start of this year, Ella organized a trail clean-up plan and amassed resources," Lenox cross country coach Jeanne Teasdale said to the MIAA. "A large volunteer group of team members, parents, school and community members worked together on two dates."

King has a 4.20 GPA and is a founding member of the Robotics Team. She's a member of the environmental club, French club, computer programming club, improv club and the quiz team. She also serves as a government officer and a peer mentor.

The MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month is presented on a monthly basis to one male and one female student-athlete who display excellence in the areas of academics, athletics and community service.
