Emergency crews have busy Sunday
PITTSFIELD — Emergency crews were kept hopping on Sunday afternoon, dealing with a bicycle accident and boat fire within 20 minutes of each other.
At about 1:50 p.m., police responded to a car-bicycle accident on Dalton Avenue. According to police, the cyclist was hurled about 20 feet by the impact. His identity and condition were not available.
At about 2:15 p.m., the fire department responded to a report of a a boat that was engulfed in flames on upper North Street. The boat was parked behind a dwelling and a shed that firefighters feared could ignite.
