Emerson String Quartet to perform Sun.

PITTSFIELD -- The Emerson String Quartet is scheduled to perform, Sunday afternoon at 3 at South Mountain, Routes 7 and 20.

The group -- Philip Setzer and Eugene Drucker, violins; Lawrence Dutton, viola; and David Finckel, cello -- will perform Dvorak's Quartet in F Major, Op.96, Bartok's Quartet No. 3, and Tchaikovsky's "Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70," for which the foursome will be joined by cellists Paul Neubauer and Colin Carr.

Founded in 1976 and based in New York, the quartet took its name from American poet and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson. They have played in major concert halls throughout the world and have appeared in the Berkshires at South Mountain and at Tanglewood.
