WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williams College women’s basketball team head into NESCAC play this weekend with a perfect record.

The Ephs improved their record to 12-0 on Sunday afternoon by beating St. Lawrence 50-38 in the final game of the Williams Winter classic.

Williams led by only two points at halftime, but outscored the Saints by 29-19 in the second half to pull away.

"I was really happy with our defensive execution, especially in the second half," said Williams coach Pat Manning. "Offensively we struggled, but sometimes you have nights like that."

Ellen Cook had 12 points to make the All-Tournament team along with Oge Uwanaka. Uwanaka followed up her 12-point game on Saturday against RPI with a seven-point, four-rebound, three-block performance. Cook also had two assists and three steals.

Williams’ Kellie Macdonald had 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Allison Cady had 11 points for St. Lawrence and was named to the All-Tournament team. Kara McDuffee had 11 points and 11 boards for the Saints.

Williams took a 21-19 lead into the locker room at halftime and pulled away by holding St. Lawrence without a point for the first 8 minutes, 20 seconds of the second half. The Saints were 0 for 13 from the floor during a 10-0 run by the Ephs.

Uwanaka and Macdonald started the run with consecutive drives to the basket. The run was ended by the Ephs’ Lauren McCall, who scored the final five points. McCall chipped in with 10 points off the bench.
