Ex-employees accused of using school's credit cards to go shopping

NORTH ADAMS -- Two former North Berkshire School Union employees were arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court on Monday for allegedly using the district's store credit cards to make fraudulent purchases totaling $29,631.

Donna M. Burdick, 57, of South County Road, Drury, and Carol A. Frye, 71, of Arnold Place, North Adams, were each charged with a single count of larceny over $250. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for June 8.

Frye oversaw the school union's accounts payable, payroll and vendor order forms, while Burdick, served as its receptionist and grants manager.
