Fight in Housatonic leads to two arrests
GREAT BARRINGTON -- A fight involving a dozen people in the village of Housatonic resulted in the arrest of two people Monday night.
Police are charging Jamie Morrison, 20, of Hillsdale Road in South Egremont with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.
Great Barrington Police Sgt. William Bartini said that as Morrison and a friend were passing Cook's Garage on Park Street, Morrison shouted out the window at a group of people congregated outside the garage.
The two stopped the car and a fight ensued, during which police allege Morrison threatened Paul Margraph, 20, of Sandisfield Road in Sandis field, with a knife and then punched him in the side of the head, knocking him out.
Margraph declined medical treatment, but Bartini said he suffered facial injuries.
The driver of the car carrying Morrison, Matt Bleau, 19, of State Road in Great Barrington, was also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for kicking Margraph.
Bartini said Monday night that police are still investigating and had brought eight individuals in for questioning. He said additional charges against Morrison are possible.
