Film features letters to JFK widow after president’s death
BOSTON (AP) -- A documentary about condolence letters sent to President John F. Kennedy’s widow after his 1963 assassination will be screened in Boston.
The film "Letters to Jackie" is based on a 2010 book by college professor and historian Ellen Fitzpatrick and features Hollywood actors reading 20 letters to Jacqueline Kennedy.
JFK Library and Museum officials say they’ll screen the film on Sept. 17.
The book’s author, the film’s director, two of the letter writers and Academy Award-winning actor Chris Cooper will discuss the film after the screening.
Among the celebrities in the documentary are Cooper, Viola Davis, John Krasinski, Octavia Spencer, Betty White and Channing Tatum.
TLC plans to air the film in November.
