Flach claims Modified win, but Hearn repeats as champion at Lebanon Valley Speedway

WEST LEBANON, N.Y. — On the final night of the Big Block Modified season at Lebanon Valley Speedway, Keith Flach raced to a win in the 30-lap feature, but it was Brett Hearn who walked away with the 2016 championship after finishing in fourth and holding off Kenny Tremont Jr., who finished in fifth, in the points total. It was Hearn's second straight year winning the title.

Flach took control of Saturday's race on lap 23 and pulled away from the pack for the win. Denny Soltis started on the pole, but finished in 17th.

There was one yellow in the race. Andy Bachetti finished second and Elmo Reckner finished fourth.

"The car was very good all night. Gotta thank the team, its a team effort," Flach said in a release. "They've built me a good car all year. We've had a very fortunate, blessed season."

In the Small Block Modifieds, Chad Jeseo took the win while Tremont took the season championship. Jeseo took the lead for good on lap 10.

Demetrios Drellos finished second, followed by Ryan Darcy — who started on the pole — Tremont and Frank Hoard III. Tremont's finish helped him clinch his second straight Small Block Modified title.

In Sportsman, John Virgilo used the race's lone caution to speed away for the win. Michael Sabia finished second, with Timothy Davis, Rob Maxon and Whitey Slavin rounding out the top five.

In the Pro Stock race, Jay Corbin beat out Jon Routhier for the win, with Nick Hilt Jr., Chuck Towslee and Ed Bishop rounding out the five fastest finishers.

In Pure Stock, Phil Sherman, Dom Denue and Gary O'Brien each won features.
