Flash flood warning issued in Berkshire County

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a flash flood warning for Florida and surrounding areas in northeastern Berkshire County where a thunderstorm has remained steady since earlier this afternoon.

The warning expires at 6 p.m.

The weather service says up to five inches of rain has already fallen in the area, with the potential for another two to three inches more before 6 p.m.

Officials advise caution near rivers ansd streams, and ask motorist not to try to drive through water moving across roadways.
