Former Berkshire Superior Court Judge Francis Spina retires from Supreme Judicial Court
BOSTON >> Justice Francis Spina, a former Berkshire Superior Court judge who has served on the Supreme Judicial Court since 1999, will retire from the state's highest court effective Aug. 12, the court announced Friday.
Spina, who was appointed to the SJC by Gov. Paul Cellucci, will turn 70 in November and would have been required to retire at that time.
