Four gain new posts at Pittsfield Co-op
PITTSFIELD -- Chip Moore has joined the Pitts field Cooperative Bank as vice president/controller, the 123-year-old financial institution has announced.
The bank also promoted Peter M. Marchetti to vice president branch operations and administration, Nadine M. Schweitzer to assistant vice president/human resources off icer, and Myles E. Rice to assistant vice president/compliance.
A native of Washington, Moore, began his financial career in the Berkshires in 1990 as a tax consultant for H & R Block in Pittsfield. He then joined the Adams Co-operative Bank where he remained for 17 years -- rising to the position of chief financial officer/treasurer. Moore also had a brief stint as vice president/controller with the Greylock Federal Credit Union before joining the Co-op.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Westfield State College, a master’s degree in executive bank management from Bos ton College, a diploma from the National School of Bank ing, and a masters in business administration from the Uni ver sity of Maryland (Adelphi).
He is also a board member of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, and treasurer of the Berkshire Visitors Bureau.
A member of the Cheshire Lions Club, Moore, served also as treasurer of the Amer ican Red Cross and a director at the Visiting Nurses Asso ciation of Nor thern Berkshire and North Adams Regional Hospital.
Marchetti, who joined The Co-op in 1988, formerly served as assistant vice president of compliance/Bank Secrecy Act officer. A former member of the City Council, who ran for mayor in 2011, Marchetti has served as president for the board of directors of Pittsfield Com munity Tele vision, and was on the board of Downtown Pittsfield Inc.
He is a graduate of Pittsfield High School, Berkshire Com munity College, and North Adams State College.
Schweitzer first worked for The Co-op as a study intern while attending Wahconah Re gional High School 26 years ago. She began her career at the bank as a teller and has served in several oth er capacities.
Schweitzer lives in Pittsfield with her husband, Pete, and sons Trevor and Troy.
She is a member of the steering committee of the Human Resources Association of the Berkshires.
Rice formerly served as the bank’s assistant treasurer. Before arriving at The Co-op in 1997, the Vermont native honed his craft at The Cale donia National Bank in Dan ville, Vt., as cashier/operations officer; The Savers’ Bank in Littleton, N.H. as vice president/operations and branch administrator), and the Fed eral Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) in Hartford, Conn., as section chief/litigation review/ claims and loan sales.
Rice lives in Stephentown, N.Y., with his wife, Cheryle. He has a married daughter, Heather Rice Thompson, and two sons, Justin and Benjamin.
