Friday's colleges: Williams women's hoops snaps Babson's home win streak
BABSON PARK -- Williams scored 43 first-half points to roll to a 62-42 win at Babson, snapping the Beavers' 46-game home win streak.
Four of the Ephs' five starters hit double figures, led by 15 from Jennie Harding. Ellen Cook, Danny Rainer and Claire Baecher had 12 points each. Williams shot 40 percent from the field and nearly 60 percent from 3-point land.
Bowdoin 4, Williams 1
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Ephs were tied 1-1 with Bowdoin in the second period before the Polar Bears scored three straight to earn the win.
Peter Mistretta had the lone goal for Williams while Evan Dugdale and Mark Lyons added assists. It is Mistretta's team-leading ninth goal of the year.
Colby 4, Williams 1
WATERVILLE, Maine -- Williams evened the game midway through the second period but couldn't hold off Colby from there.
Cristina Bravi tied the game with a goal for the Ephs 12:29 into the second. Colby answered two minutes later with a tally from Kathryn Shei. The hosts added two more goals in the third.
Rachel Nguyen made 27 saves in the loss for Williams.
