Friday's roundup: Hoosac golf wins

Saturday October 13, 2012

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Chad Alibozek conquered the elements to earn medalist honors as Hoosac Valley beat Mount Greylock in the Mounties’ season finale.

The Hurricanes beat the Mounties 171-199, ending Greylock’s season at 0-15.

"They learned a lot," said Greylock coach Luke Polidoro, who returns his entire team next year. "Ever kid on the team improved. They learned that golf is not as easy as other sports."

Alibozek would have had a par 36 on Waubeeka’s front nine were it not for a bogey on the final hole.

"His 37 today says he’s ready to play" in Sunday’s Berkshire Classic tournament, said Polidoro. "He’s so solid. He doesn’t make bad mistakes."
