By making an article about crossword puzzles the lead story on the front page of the June 24 Eagle, you insult your readers! If your heritage includes the journalism of the type done by Daniel Pearl, how can you run this type of story in this position, with all that is going on in the world?

Yes, you are a local newspaper, but you have sections for Berkshires and Life/Art local stories. That's where this story belonged.

Get back to the roots of true journalism and have some perspective on what is important to report to your audience.
