Gin Blossoms, Deer Tick to headline MassGathering at Ski Butternut
GREAT BARRINGTON — Alt-rock staples the Gin Blossoms and Deer Tick will be two of the headliners at MassGathering on Memorial Day weekend.
The festival will be held on May 28-29 at Ski Butternut on Route 23, organizers said.
The event, formerly known as SummerSound Live at Tanglewood, also features several running race events, which were previously held at Tanglewood.
Additional acts announced on Friday include the Boston-based band Strange Madness, West End Blend from Connecticut, Vermont-based Madalia and Parsonsfield from Massachusetts.
MassGathering founder Matt Linick said organizers "are beyond excited to announce the additions to this year's lineup."
The Grammy-nominated Gin Blossoms. were "one of the premiere bands of the '90s," Linick said, and Deer Tick "has always been a target of ours for this event."
The Berkshires will also be well-represented with entertainment by DJ BFG and The Whiskey Treaty, according to Linick.
Race events include a marathon, half-marathon, 10K/5K, 10K Trail Race, a trail-road challenge and more.
Tickets, including single-day passes, weekend passes, camping passes and VIP passes, are on sale now.
Fans can go to www.massgathering.com to buy tickets. Tickets are also on sale at the Ski Butternut pro shop, Big Elm Brewing in Sheffield, the Gypsy Joynt in Great Barrington and Mission Bar + Tapas in Pittsfield.
