GOP victory will threaten Medicaid

Tuesday September 11, 2012

During the Democratic Convention last week one PBS Newshour report has stayed to haunt this grandmother.

David Brooks, a conservative columnist from The New York Times, mentioned, offhandedly, that the Democrats should go after the Republicans for their proposed Medicaid cuts implying that this is an area where they are vulnerable. Medicaid is the health care program, administered by the states, that helps the poor, disabled, and handicapped. The Republican health care proposal guts Medicaid.

My new grandson, born two months ago, has Down Syn drome. Patrick will be a Medicaid recipient. Can’t this great, rich, and blessed country find the resources to help Patrick and his peers?

So. Egremont
