Gov. Deval Patrick to join Ireland trade mission
BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick is heading to Ireland to join a trade mission already under way by Senate President Therese Murray.
Patrick is departing Tuesday evening and is scheduled to be in Ireland from Wednesday through Friday.
Patrick is planning to speak at an e-Health conference and participate in a Digital Health and Life Sciences Trade Summit.
He's also scheduled to meet with Irish business leaders whose companies have a presence in Massachusetts. Patrick will also meet with the prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and trade.
Patrick is planning to make the trip without any state secretaries or commissioners accompanying him.
On Monday, Patrick met with British Prime Minister David Cameron in his Statehouse office.
In February, Patrick led a Massachusetts trade delegation to Colombia to pursue new business opportunities with the South American nation.
