Grateful for breast cancer screening

Posted
Sunday January 13, 2013

I read the January 9 article on the decrease of women getting their annual breast screenings with concern.

These screenings are so very important, my case being a good example. I was fine one year and then last year, doctors spotted an area of concern. After further study, I did have early stage breast cancer. The Women’s Imaging Center at BMC worked with me through the entire process, providing me with guidance and support.

I urge all women to take the time to have the screening. The Women’s Imaging Center is flexible with times and appointments. It is a quick process, and is done by professionals who are respectful and caring.

Think of this as a gift to yourself, your loved ones and to a healthy future. Don’t put it off. Believe me, you will never regret that you had that screening, if only for peace of mind.

It saved my life.
