Great Barrington: Abbie Schroeder to give talk


The Great Barrington Historical Society will present an evening with Abby Schroeder at 7 p.m. Wednesday May 14, at the Teague Senior Center, 917 South Main St.

Schroeder will share stories of her life as a mover and shaker in the entertainment industry as well as her work on behalf of the Great Barrington community.

An executive at the top level of the music industry, Schroeder was chief operating officer of A. Schroeder International LLC. She was a music supervisor for Broadway, motion picture and TV productions.

In the Berkshires, her 20 year relationship with the Berkshire Theater Festival included organizing and producing benefit shows featuring writers and stars such as Lauren Bacall, Cy Coleman, and Michael Feinstein.

She was the president and chairman of Save The Mahaiwe Inc., chairman of the Great Barrington Arts Lottery Council, and chaired the "Because We Care" campaign for Fairview Hospital.
