Great Barrington: Biographer to inaugurate Du Bois series

The Berkshire Hills Regional School District announces that David Levering Lewis, scholar and two-time Pulitzer Prize winning Du Bois biographer, will inaugurate the W.E.B. Du Bois Educational Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Monument Mountain Regional High School.

Students from Monument Mountain and Pittsfield High School will open the evening by reciting passages from Du Bois' work. Lewis will give the keynote presentation, "W.E.B. Du Bois's Long Road Back to Great Barrington."

An exhibit highlighting the life and works of Du Bois, on loan from W.E.B. Du Bois Library at UMass Amherst, will be on display in the high school's lobby prior to the presentation.

This free event is open to the public.

The Educational Series honoring Du Bois will present two major public programs a year. It will also feature smaller student forums.
