Great Barrington CNA charged with raping patient at nursing home

EAST LONGMEADOW (AP) -- A certified nursing assistant at an East Longmeadow nursing facility has been charged with raping a patient.

Police say 24-year-old Parkpoom Seesangrit of Great Barrington is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges including rape and indecent assault and battery.

Sgt. Patrick Manley says the suspect "was found in a room with the victim under inappropriate circumstances."

The alleged victim is a 69-year-old woman. She was not under the direct care of the suspect.

She was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Manley did not identify the nursing facility.

It’s unclear if Seesangrit has a lawyer.
