Great Barrington: Kennel Club event for responsible dog owners

The Great Barrington Kennel Club will hold its annual Responsible Dog Owner’s Day on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VFW on Route 7.

Competitions include DockDogs on Saturday and Sunday; Obedience & Rally Match on Saturday with registration starting at 9 a.m., and a Conformation Match on Sunday with registration starting at 9 a.m.

Other highlights include Frisbee, police dog and grooming demonstrations; a try-it-yourself agility course, food and drinks. Therapy Dogs will be on hand all day Saturday and there will be a "Meet the Breeds" education center.

All visitors can take part in the "fun" dog show to compete for various titles.

Raffles will be held to benefit Pet Partners Food Pantry and the Big Red Sox Raffle Drawing will be held Sunday afternoon.

Parking costs $5 per car to benefit the Berkshire Disaster Animal Response Team.

All well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Flexi leads are not allowed.
