Great Barrington: Library Friends host documentary series

Posted

First Saturday Documentaries for Everyone has selected films for its three month pilot program of recent documentaries chosen to spark community discussion.

All films will be shown at the Claire Teague Senior Center and are open to all ages. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the films start at 7:45 p.m. Admission is free.

The series, hosted by Friends of the Great Barrington Libraries, begins Oct. 1 with a screening of "Here Come The Videofreex." A wine and cheese reception begins at 7 p.m. A group discussion and refreshments follow the film.

Future films include "Outermost Radio" on Nov. 5 and "91%" on Dec. 3. The films are not rated and some may contain strong language.

A book display at Mason Library will highlight issues raised by each documentary. The film will be donated to the library and available for circulation after the screening.

For more information, visit Facebook.com/FriendsGBL or call the Senior Center at 413-528-1881.
