Great Barrington: Party to welcome library director

The Trustees and Friends of the Great Barrington Libraries invite the community to a party for new Library Director Amanda DeGiorgis from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 9, in the vaulted reading room of the Mason Library.

DeGiorgis was promoted to director on March 3 from her position as senior librarian. She holds a doctorate in medieval history from the University of St. Andrews, a master’s degree in library and information sciences from Simmons College, and a bachelor’s degree from Smith College.

The party is free and open to the public. Highlights include music by Berkshire Sings choral group and Lizzie Meier on ukelele with grilled pizza from Berkshire Mountain Bakery.
