Great Barrington: Performance, discussion address child sexual abuse

The Elizabeth Freeman Center and Red Collaborative will present "Facing Shame: Straight Talk on Child Sexual Abuse," at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in the Parish Hall at First Congregational Church, 251 Main St.

The event features a performance of songs and prose by artist-activist Gabrielle Senza, and a discussion with Jean Clark-Mitchell, director of clinical services at Elizabeth Freeman Center.

The event, held in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, will address how to recognize, confront, and prevent sexual abuse in schools, churches, streets and homes.

There is a $10-20 suggested donation, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
