Great Barrington: Project Native propagator to lead workshop

Project Native propagator Lou Kratt will lead a hands-on workshop, "Introduction to Propagation," from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 19, at Project Native, 342 North Plain Road, Route 41, Housatonic.

Participants will learn about choosing and preparing soil and containers, how to care for seedlings, and techniques to propagate some common native plants found in the landscape. Propagation from cuttings, layering, divisions and seeds will be discussed.

Dress appropriately for the weather; bring a hat, sunscreen, gloves, water bottle and closed-toe shoes. This is a rain or shine event.
