A sturdy wooden bench has been planted underneath the tree on Ramsdell Library’s front yard, courtesy of Margaret K. LaMudge.

LaMudge, a life-long resident of Housatonic and faithful patron of the Ramsdell Library, posthumously gave the library a $5,000 donation to be spent on furniture and books.

The library will purchase reading chairs for parents and adults as well as Bliss Lights.

Paul and Maureen Hickey have furthered Ramsdell’s goal of being an artist’s library with their donation of over 600 art books. Spanning from Egyptian to contemporary art, the donation vastly increases the library’s Art and Architecture collection.

Combined with kits for budding artists, art classes, and films about creativity, Ramsdell Library continues to build its reputation as a fun, interactive environment for library users of all ages.
