Great Barrington: Ramsdell Library to screen 'Frozen River'


A free screening of "Frozen River" is the featured event scheduled for week seven of winter Sunday afternoons at Ramsdell Library, 1087 Main St., Housatonic, on Sunday, Feb. 21. The film will begin at 2 p.m.

Written and directed by Courtney Hunt, the film won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2008 and was twice nominated for Academy Awards.

At 1 p.m., artist Holly Hamer will lead a workshop on abstract painting without a brush using gouache and casein. The library will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.

Winter Sunday afternoons at Ramsdell Library is an 11 week pilot programming running through March 20 and sponsored by both The Friends and the Trustees of the Great Barrington Libraries.
