Great Barrington: Ski Butternut joins other resorts in Guinness Records event
Ski Butternut is one of 120 ski/snowboard resorts across the country that will host a Guinness Book of World Records event in hopes of setting a joint record for the Largest Ski or Snowboard lesson.
Lessons for ages 4 and up will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8. The event serves as the kick-off for the snow sports industry's Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.
The $10 beginner lesson package includes rental equipment for the day, a first-timer 1.5 hour lesson and a beginner's area lift ticket. Helmets can be rented for the day.
No reservations are required. To participate, arrive at the Ski Butternut Rental building by 9 a.m. at the latest. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
During the rest of January, Ski Butternut will be offering a Learn-to-Ski or Learn-to-Snowboard package for $75 any day.
